Halloween

Halloween was fun this year for three reasons.  First, Grayson was a year old and was more excited about going trick or treating this year.  Second, we have Ryley to join in the fun.  And third, Will was home for Halloween this year!  Last year he was still in AZ for a class he was taking and didn't make it home till right after Halloween.  It was fun to have him home for our trips to the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins, and trick or treating.  We still weren't brave enough to put a knife in Gray's hands to carve a pumpkin, so he ended up decorating all the little pumpkins with stickers while Mommy and Daddy each carved a pumpkin.  Ryley was our cheering section and played while we worked on the pumpkins.  

Ryley dressed up as a monkey which was Grayson's first Halloween costume.  I stuck a picture of Grayson as a baby in his costume... can you pick out which one is Grayson and which is Ryley?! :)  I love how simliar... yet different... the boys look in baby pictures.

I took advantage of the fact that Grayson didn't quite understand what Halloween was and didn't seem to know that he could dress up.  A friend gave me an Elmo costume so Mommy decided to save money and have him dress up as Elmo this year.  He wasn't too sure about the costume at first and as we were leaving for Disney he was persistent that he wanted to be a pirate.  Of course any pirate costume at Disney was going to cost an arm and a leg so we stuck with Elmo and on the night of Halloween Grayson didn't even put up a fuss thankfully!  We started our trick or treating with the neighbors whose little boy, Andrew, turned two this summer.  They had to leave for a church party and we continued on to the rest of our neighborhood.  Grayson was a trooper and wanted to stop at every house with lights on.  Ryley had enough about half way through, but managed to tough it out till we got home.  

 Grayson dumped out his loot of candy as soon as we got home and was able to eat one sucker before bed.  Ryley thought the stash of candy looked pretty good too and we soon found he had put all the suckers in his lap. :)  

It was a fun Halloween and now we're stocked with suckers for the year till Halloween comes again! :)
