Tot School - Letter B

In the midst of summer it's been hard to get together as often as we started out, but we managed to get together one day to work on the letter B.  We had some new friends join us as well!  Grayson's new neighbor friend, Andrew, joined in our fun.  Then another lady I met through MOPS came over with her two little girls, Abigail and Emma, to play too.  I found a few new activities to go with letter B like matching upper and lower case B's to put together the colored bees.

 I also took Grayson's rubber bugs and froze them in blocks of ice for each kid. They all started out hammering away, but the girls quickly lost interest and they all scampered off to play on the swing set.  However, Grayson and Andrew kept on hammering until all their bugs were out!  Okay... well Grayson hammered and Andrew made his mom do all the work!  Andrew didn't want to touch the bugs until they were completely out of the ice.  I pulled the hose out eventually to help them melt some of the ice and the girls came running back when they realized they were gonna get them out a little faster.
 

After all their hard work getting bugs out, Andrew's mom brought over some fun Sesame Street snacks!

Ryley and his buddy Tanner, who is 9 months (Gracie's brother), played together on the floor while the big kids had some play time up in Grayson's playroom.  :)

Hot Georgia Summer!

We are managing to stay cool in this GA heat!  We spend a lot of time indoors, but we try to get outside for a little a little bit in the mornings.  I'm just glad Grayson seems to enjoy playing in fountains now!  We find ourselves either going to the splash park on base, or going to Forsyth Park where they have turned on extra fountains for people to get wet.  Grayson does pretty well not getting too antsy being indoors in the afternoon and seems to really like playing with Ryley.  One day I had Ryley up on the table and next thing I knew, Grayson was up there too! :)  I sure hope he continues to love his little brother this much as they get bigger and he really starts having to share his toys with him!

4th of July

I'm finally getting around to putting up pictures from the 4th of July!  It was a hot week that week, but we still managed to find some fun outside. :)  The Saturday before the 4th, the city had a 4th of July celebration at the park with fireworks at night.  We went around dinner time to see what all they had since we knew Gray wouldn't make it until 9:30 for fireworks.  Gray decided to feed the ducks his hot dog bun and then there were inflatable water slides for the kids to play on for free.  Gray spotted those right away so we made our way over after having a bite to eat and some ice cream from our favorite ice cream man in town.  Grayson did well climbing up one of the slides on his own, but the last one Will eventually had to help him with.  Grayson kept making it half way up, but would try and rush and would slide back down.  Of course that was the one with the longest line so a bunch of kids were waiting on him to get up and down, but they were pretty patient thankfully. :)

On the 4th, we had our new neighbors come over, along with my friends Ashley and her husband.  Will got a game of cornhole in before grilling burgers, but I think he'll need to keep searching for some GA friends that are cornhole players.  Neither of the guys seemed to thrilled to play another game, but maybe that was due to the heat and full tummies.  :)  We had set up Grayson's pool under the carport for the kids to play in and after dinner, the neighbors set up their sprinkler that pops out balls.  Grayson has never been one to play a long time in the sprinkler.... till now!  Andrew and Addison eventually tired of the sprinkler, but Grayson was still going strong till we put it away.

 That evening before bed, we pulled out the Pop-Its for Grayson to throw.  We weren't too sure how he would like them, but he was a popping machine!  I should have taken a video of him because the pictures don't capture how funny he looked throwing them. :)  He would do a funny little jump while throwing it up in the air.  We found if he threw it straight at the ground they wouldn't pop, but if he got a little elevation to it before it hit the ground he could get it to pop.
