Disney World

New York was the start of Will's 2 weeks of leave before deployment.  Our second weekend of leave we headed won to Orlando to take the boys to Disney World.  We weren't sure what Grayson would think of it all, but he seemed to have a great time and we'll head back to use up the rest of our ticket when Will returns next summer.  Our first day we went to Magic Kingdom.  While there were still lots of people there despite the cold, cloudy weather, we didn't have to wait in any line longer than 30 minutes and thankfully Grayson did great waiting in line!  I must say, Disney World was smart to put interactive activities throughout some of the lines for kids to play with while they waited!  Grayson loved seeing the "Mickey show" (the little show they put on throughout the day in front of the castle) and loved the Pirates ride since he saw lot so of Jake and the Neverland pirates things in the gift shop afterwards. :)  Ryley seemed to have a slight fever the first two days of our trip, but was a trooper despite not feeling his best and would nap on and off throughout the day.  Grayson managed to take a short nap each day in the stroller which was helpful so we could see more and not worry about leaving and coming back.

This cute had was sadly lost the next day :(
The next day we went to Animal Kingdom.  This was our favorite of the two parks since it had all the animals and a great safari ride.  Not to mention the amazing 30 min Lion King show!  Since Grayson had kept saying he wanted to see Mickey, we made sure to go visit the characters.  We were smart in getting to the park when it opened so when the characters were going to come out to their area, we were the first there as well.  Grayson was the first kid to see Mickey that day.  He wasn't too sure what to do when Mickey came up, but at least he wasn't scared and had a smile on his face. :)  While Will went to get us seats for the Lion King show, I took Grayson to visit Minnie and Pluto.  Afterwards, he was asking to see Chip and Dale.  Will never thought he'd stand in line to visit characters, but things sure change when you have kids!  It was smart to visit them at Animal Kingdom since lines for characters at Magic Kingdom were MUCH longer!

Grayson saw some people taking their picture at this wall and was insistent that I take his picture too. :)

Loving his Mickey ears!

Checking out the fish at Rainforest Cafe during dinner before we left the park.
We had a great time at Disney World and Grayson will still randomly tell strangers or people at school that he went to Disney World and saw Mickey.  It will be fun to take the boys next year when Ryley is older and can enjoy it more too. :)
