The Savannah Children's Museum has opened! :) Their grand opening was June 9 so rather than trying to make our way through the crowd, I waited till Thursday to take Grayson. We brought along Grayson's friend, Addison, and her mommy, Ashley. I had gotten a year membership that includes entrance into the Children's Museum, Roundhouse Railroad Museum, and Savannah History Museum. The great part is that the membership includes 5 people... children or adults! This way when grandparents, cousins, friends, come to visit we can still get two more people in to any of those museums for free! Right now the museum only has an outdoor portion. The indoor portion is next to be completed, but I'm guessing it will be another year or more. However, the outdoor part was great! I was a little skeptical at what all they would include outside or how much space they would have but I was impressed! It's not HUGE, but it's big enough to go enjoy a couple hours in the morning before lunch to get Grayson out of the house. When we first arrived, Addison wanted to stick around on the upper section and play at the water table and some blocks up there. Grayson was anxious to go down the big slides he saw to the lower section. He then ran around the whole place checking out each area they had, but never spending much time at any one particular place. After awhile, we went back up the stairs to find Addie and he finally started playing in certain areas of an extended time the rest of the morning. The museum had their first field trip come about an hour after we got there. The kids were probably around 7 years old and were trying to build a fort with some of the blocks. Of course Grayson just saw it as a great chance to knock things down. He enjoyed climbing in there with them, but they were trying to use giant legos for flooring and Grayson kept falling on it and knocking sections of their walls down. Most of the boys were great sports though and didn't get too upset! Here are some pictures of our fun morning!

There is a maze on half of the lower section. Within the maze, kids will find a Lego wall and chalkboards. Grayson loved the Lego wall!
