Newborn Pictures

For those of you not on Facebook... here are the newborn pictures we had taken of Ryley.  I had posted these awhile ago on Facebook, but hadn't gotten around to putting them on the blog.  Like the maternity/family photos we had taken in December, these are the web copies so it has the photographers watermark across the pictures.  However, family that would like copies of the pictures, I have better quality without the name of the photographer on them that I can print and send you.  Just let me know what pictures you'd like copies of!  The higher quality pictures just take much longer to download onto the blog.  Now I just need to get around to framing pictures to hang in the house... including pictures we had taken when Grayson was a baby!  Yikes... I'm behind on that!  One thing I have noticed in our new house is that we do not have TONS of empty wall space to hang pictures on in the common areas.  I'll figure something out though!  We've had some wonderful photographers take pictures of our boys and family that I have to show them off! :)  

Roundhouse Railroad Museum

Will was searching for something to do with Grayson this weekend and came across a train museum in Savannah.  It was in some of the old railway buildings with train cars that we could go in and look around.  There was also a train ride that didn't go very far since the train tracks have been torn up.  However, it did go on the roundhouse to show how the trains get onto different tracks and went back behind where this is construction going on for a children's museum.  Grayson LOVED riding the train as well as looking at all the old trains and being able to go on.  Thankfully there were lots of kids on the train ride with us so him talking non-stop was not such a bother to those on board.  He kept looking out the window and pointing while saying "Tha way... tha way!"  I found out that the museum holds an 8 week art class for kids 3 and under which I'm tempted to sign him up for.  I know he'd love to do the art, but it would also give us plenty of more chances to stop and see the trains! :) There was also a room with model trains running which he was thrilled to stand and watch them.  He'd get a little upset though when they'd roll away to a spot he couldn't see them.  There were men working on the set too so the windows would be open in sections which just made Gray think it was an open invitation to play with the "choo-choo".  Someday he'll get his own set of train tracks to play with, but we'll wait a little bit for that until the day he'd keep the tracks on the ground and not constantly take them apart!

Time with G'ma and G'pa Sand

I was fortunate to have my mom come visit for about 3 weeks to help out around the house and with the boys.  Grayson LOVED having Grandma here!  My dad came a week ago too and Grayson enjoyed having him here to play with.  Sadly, I was not on the ball and did not take very many pictures of the boys with Grandma and Grandpa while they were here. :(  Here are a few though.  

One day, Grandpa took Grayson on a walk over to the fire station.  There was a fire truck out in the back, so they went back there to look at it.  Later, the guys in the station saw them and came out to talk to them and gave Grayson his own fire hat.  I guess Grayson was a little intimidated and wouldn't get out of the stroller while looking at the truck, and he didn't want to touch the hat when they gave it to him.  However, once he got home, he was VERY excited about his fire hat and wanted to wear it.

"Tow-Mater", Potty, and Ice Cream!

One of Grayson's gifts for his birthday was a "Tow-Mater" push toy that blows bubbles.  His new buddy, Jake, spoils him with toys!  Sadly, Mater doesn't blow bubbles too well!  Here are some pictures of the first time Daddy took him outside to try it out the day after his birthday.  If you notice, there aren't any bubbles coming out, but he had fun pushing it around anyway!  In the last picture he's looking at the side of it as he pushes wondering where the bubbles are. 

Daddy is determined to get Gray potty trained in the new few months so we got him his own potty.  We found a Cars potty that he absolutely loves!  When he pushes the handle on the side it makes car noises.  He knows that his diaper has to come off to sit on the potty, which he doesn't mind.  However, when I notice that he is trying to go potty and ask him if he wants to go sit on it, he quickly yells no and won't move from his spot.  This mommy isn't too sure if big brother is ready for potty training, but we'll see!  

While Grandma and Grandpa Sand were here, we had to make sure we made a trip to "The Ice Cream Shop".  It's Grayson's favorite place for a treat!  It's right down the road from our house, and inside it has two toy trains running on tracks up by the ceiling.  Grayson LOVES to see the trains when he first gets in the shop!  The shop also has a little area just for kids to play with chalkboard walls.  Grayson is already becoming a back seat driver by telling us exactly which way to turn when we're on our way there and we have to be careful when we talk about it because if he overhears us, he's like a broken record and says "i-cream shop... choo choo... i-cream shop?" for the next hour!  The kiddo doesn't eat much candy, cookies, etc., but he sure does love his little tiny ice cream cone from the "Ice Cream Shop"!  Anyone that comes to visit can plan on making a trip there while you're here! :)
