Grayson and Brooklyn.... back together again!

Grayson and Brooklyn have known each other since they were hours old.  In fact they have the same birthday, born in the same hospital, and ironically enough were born in the same room!  Grayson was born early in the morning on the 26th (4:23 am) while Brooklyn was born late at night (11:30 pm).  Both were stubborn to their mothers and put up a good fight about coming out quickly... much to Lareasa and my dismay!  When Grayson and I went to Washington this past week to visit, we had the pleasure to stay with Brooklyn and her parents and the two were reunited once again!  It's amazing how they have the same birthday but have grown at different rates.  Brooklyn is a petite little gal with only 1.5 teeth, short in stature, and running circles around Grayson.... literally!  Grayson of course stands almost a head taller, with a mouth full of 14 teeth and still won't trust himself to take more than a few steps.  They had a great time playing though and we were sad to have to say goodbye so soon!  Here are some pictures of the fun times Grayson had playing with Brooklyn this past week.

Grayson loved "riding" (a.k.a. Eric pulling him) Brooklyn's pony.  Brooklyn of course felt she needed to help push him along.

Lareasa got a wheelbarrow for her birthday so Eric took the kids on a ride.

Are you a follower??

I'm still uncertain as to whether or not becoming a "follower" will fix the issue of seeing some of you on both lists of "accepted invitation" and "open invitation".  I believe those of you that have hotmail or gmail email accounts are the ones showing up on both lists unless you have become a "follower" of this blog.  Therefore, if you'd like me to stop sending the invites to you because you have already accepted it then please be sure to click on the icon that says "follow".  You will see it to the left of the blog posts under "Family and Friends".  It's a little off-white box with the word "follow" and a little red and green thing by it.  Thanks!

G'ma and G'pa Sand Visit!

Grandma and Grandpa Sand were our first visitors to sunny AZ!  Turned out to be a wonderful week too!  The weekend they arrived and we met them in Phoenix, it snowed here at home.  But by the time they got down to Sierra Vista after visiting Sedona first, it was in the 70s and sunny!  Of course you see we went to the rodeo while they were here, but here are some pictures of what we did the rest of the time!  Of course we ended up going to the park by our house.  Grayson had to show Grandma how he can go down the slide by himself on his belly.  He went down the rolly slide for the first time by himself and would giggle because of the bumpy feeling on his tummy.  He ended up doing that over and over again until Mommy got tired of picking him up and putting him back on the play structure.

Grandma did a great job keeping him entertained in the backseat!

We showed Grandpa and Grandma what a Hibachi grille was like.  It was Graysons first time too!  He thought it was pretty fun to use chopsticks and eat his avocado from Daddy's chopsticks.  Grandpa Sand was daring enough to try Saki, while the rest of us declined!

Of course Grayson's favorite part of the day is reading books before bed.  Usually Mommy reads to him, but he got a special treat and got to read with Grandma too!

On their last day here, Grayson and I took them to Tucson to catch the shuttle to Phoenix.  We were supposed to go to the zoo but it was so windy that dust kept kicking up.  After a failed attempt at going to the Children's Museum we saw an old cathedral by the museum and stopped there to look inside.  Outside the church there was this arch with metal flowers all over it.  Grayson of course needed time out of the car to move so he enjoyed climbing up the stairs and playing on the "stage".

After many attempts to get a picture of Grayson with Grandma and Grandpa we finally got a good one!  Thanks for come to visit!!  We miss you already!

Rodeo

This weekend Grayson went to his first rodeo!  Here on base there was the college rodeo.  Grandma and Grandpa Sand were in town too!  Grayson noticed the horses, but didn't pay much attention to what was going on.  He loved to just play in the dirt.  He's such a boy! :)  Before the rodeo started they had kids activities and one was getting to ride a horse.  We figured Grayson wouldn't really ride it, but we wanted a picture so we waited in line to set him on the horse.  He had pet a horse before and liked it.  Sitting ON the horse was a different story as you can see in the pictures below.  After Daddy took him off he was much happier and would pet the horse.

We left and went home for a little while so Grayson could take a nap since we discovered the rodeo events didn't start for a couple hours.  It was a wonderful sunny day with a slight breeze.  Perfect for sitting in the sun! :)

Grayson even got his own foam cowboy hat at the rodeo.  Of course he wouldn't keep it on, but I managed to get a picture with it on before he pulled it off again.  Even Daddy wore his hat!  Mommy made him for a picture and then he pulled it off of course!  Grandpa Sand ended up wearing his hat to keep the sun out of his eyes most of the time.

When Grayson wasn't eating... which is all the time these days!... or trying to get Grandpa's sunglasses you would find him playing in the dirt.  He definitely got a bath that night!

It was a great afternoon at the rodeo! Wish you all could have been there!
