Ohio Visit

After our trip to Myrtle Beach, we made our way up to Xenia, OH where two of my sisters live (as well as my parents for parts of the year).  We stayed in Ohio for a few days and enjoyed time with my niece and nephews... and of course my sisters Stephanie and Laura! :)  On the first day we were in Ohio we spent time with my sister Laura and her daughter Addie, age 4.  We made a trip to Young's Dairy where Grayson got to feed the goats and see the cows being milked.  He loved feeding the goats and would only take one little pellet at a time to feed a goat.  Of course that ended up with his fingers getting nibbled on a couple times!  Even though he didn't care for his fingers being nibbled, he still kept on feeding them and once the food was searching for more!  The next couple days we spent the days with my sister Stephanie and twin nephews Tyler and Reese, age 6.  We spent the day at their house one day checking everything out in their large yard.  Grayson loved feeding their ducks bread and when the bread was gone started picking tomatoes off the vines to give them more food.  While I didn't get any pictures of Will racing the nephews on scooters, Grayson got a kick out of watching them race down the long driveway and back and would chase after them.  He's just dying to get as big as those boys so he can chase after them too and keep up!  Another day we went to a childrens garden where there was a small stream and waterfall built for kids to play in.  Grayson wanted NOTHING to do with the waterfall, but LOVED playing in the stream!  There was a fish pond as well and a water pump that Grayson loved pumping water out of and had a hard time sharing with his cousins.  We spent a lot of time at parks as well and enjoyed the mornings before it got too warm.  Of course after being in 100+ degrees for the past 3 months in AZ, having the temps in the 80's and low 90's isn't so bad as long as the humidity stays reasonable!  Grayson was able to play with Addie again the last night we were there and we stayed with my sister Laura each night at my parents house in Ohio so she was able to get lots of time with Grayson after she'd get off work.  It was a wonderful visit in Ohio, but were sad to miss Grandma and Grandpa Sand since they had already gone back to Washington by the time we got there!  Grayson loves the rocking horse though we got to take from their house since he's now the "little tike" of the grandkids! :)

Ouch!  His fingers got nibbled!

Myrtle Beach, NC

We planned a vacation to Myrtle Beach with Will's friends from high school, Sean and Julie.  They have a daughter, Reagan, who is 3 yrs old and Grayson followed her everywhere that week it seemed!  Reagan was a good sport though and didn't get too annoyed when Grayson would keep moving spots to be right next to her. :)  We rented a condo on the Kingston Plantation with a large balcony overlooking the ocean.  It was beautiful!  The condo building had access to many different pools and of course the beach was just a short walk out the building.  It was a wonderfully, relaxing week with friends and enjoyed every minute of it!  The first day Grayson LOVED the beach, playing in the water, and digging in the sand.  Then for some reason the rest of the week he was very timid when we'd go and the waves would come.  He'd run away and was kind of clingy to us.  Hopefully that doesn't last long since we plan to spend a lot of weekends at the beach while living in the Savannah area!  During the week we took time away from the beach to go to "Pirate Voyage" dinner show.  The food was delicious... and enormous in portions!  Even though we went to an afternoon show during Grayson's nap time due to limited availability in tickets, Grayson LOVED every minute of it and was intrigued by everything going on on the "stage" (boats/water).  The last two days at the beach another couple with two kids, Margo 3 and Charlie 16 mths, came to stay with us as well and enjoy the beach.  Reagan was happy to see her friend Margo and have someone her age to play with, and Grayson and Charlie learned how to share and get along with someone their own age much to their dislike at times.  Overall, it was a wonderful vacation in the midst of a crazy month of traveling and moving!  Stay tuned for our next stops!

Weekend in Atlanta

Our traveling from Arizona brought us to Georgia after about 3 days of driving.  We know a couple people there in Savannah already so we were able to drop Bailey, our cat, off at someone's house since we don't close on the house until the 31st.  We then headed back up to Atlanta where some friends of Will's from HS, Sean and Julie, were up visiting friends.  During our time in Atlanta we went to the zoo with Julie and their daughter Reagan.  Will went with Sean to the PGA championship game that Saturday while Grayson and I went to the Children's Museum.  We had a fun time in Atlanta before heading to Myrtle Beach for a week.  Here are just a few of the pictures from our weekend in Atlanta.

Goofing around

Here are some pictures from the last couple weeks.  We have been busy getting things lined up to move so haven't been great at posting new pictures.  Sorry!  Lately Grayson has figured out how to rock himself in his little rocker and likes to sit there and rock or read.  He also go to play in the rain outside our kitchen for a little bit the other day.  Monsoon season has come and our grass is actually GREEN!  In fact, our backyard looks somewhat like a jungle since we don't have a lawn mower.  Will has the pleasure of borrowing a friends mower this weekend and getting to mow the backyard before we check out of our house next Monday.  Should be quite the job for him!  Movers come Thurs and Friday to pack and load the truck.  We'll stay in lodging near our house those days and over the weekend until we hit the road Monday morning.  Grayson has his 18 mth appt on that Monday and I also have a dr appt before we hit the road and then we hope to make it to El Paso or farther that afternoon.  Hopefully things go smoothly this week and aren't too stressful before our long drive next week! :)  I'll try to keep updating pictures and our adventures throughout the month.
