Breakfast Time!

I decided to let Grayson try to feed himself this morning for breakfast.  I had to show him how to do it by guiding his hand at first, but then he got the hang of it and did pretty well for his first time! :)  Eventually though he decided his fingers would be easier at which point I took the bowl back and finished feeding him his cereal myself.

We've been teaching Grayson sign language.  He learned "more" awhile ago, but yesterday while at Walmart he wanted snacks from the cart.  When he signed more, I asked him "please" and he signed it!  He was quite proud of himself when he saw me get excited and would do it each time after that.  I decided to capture it on video this morning while he was eating breakfast and share it with you all!  My baby is getting so big!  

Super Bowl Sunday

 Super Bowl Sunday!  We didn't care too much who won this year, but we still had people over at our place to watch the game.  Grayson was wide eyed and bushy tailed the whole day!  We did manage to get him to take a nap... after much fussing... shortly before people came.  So this week we'll be attempting the transition to one nap.  Wish me luck!!

 Grayson had fun climbing on our friend Mike and finding his way on top of the toy box/foot rest.  He had figured out how to climb up there earlier in the morning so he was showing everyone what new trick he learned when the game started.  He has become quite the climber lately and if you look close in some of the pictures you'll see a nice little red bump on his forehead from toppling over a toy that he was trying to reach over earlier in the day.  

I managed to get him to actually play in the sandbox!  It's the first time he's played in it since his birthday party since it's been so cold.  Thank goodness for our nice weather again!!

He had fun just picking up the sand and putting it in the bucket or taking it out of the bucket.  Of course his little hands are small so half the sand would seep through his fingers and barely any made it into the bucket.  I think he just liked the feel of the sand running between his fingers.  

Bailey found her way outside too.  Since we have a fenced in backyard and she doesn't know how to jump over things or climb we let her out in the backyard with us when we're back there.  She kept finding birds in the trees and looked like she was ready to pounce on them.  Of course there was no way of her actually being able to get them!

Grayson's friend Julia was there to play as well.  They didn't so much as play together in the sandbox, but they each managed to play well and not steal one anothers things too much!  

Of course being hte little climber he is... he tried climbing onto the picnic table as well!

Once we cleaned up the sandbox he eyed his swing and headed for it so we swung for a little bit too before the sun went down and it was time to eat.  The boy loves his swing! :)

Tucson Childrens Museum

Grayson and I went to the Tucson Children's Museum today.  It's been soooo cold here this week that it was a good chance to get out of the house and see something new.  Of course we also had to hit up Costco there in Tucson! :)  When we got to the museum Grayson gave me this look.  Maybe he didn't care for the cold... who knows!  He likes to give that ornery face though these days, just like his father!  Our friends Anna and Julia came along with us and the kiddos definitely had fun!

There was a animated floor at the museum with plants and bugs.  The bugs would move when it sensed movement by it.  Grayson thought it was pretty funny to see the things scurry away when he tried to "catch" them.

There was a train engine that the kids could climb in.  Grayson loves tunnels these days so he had a blast going in and out of the train engine.  They had other train toys there too for the kids to play with that he enjoyed.

There was a little "Vet Clinic" that the kids could pretend to be vets and take care of the stuffed animals.  Grayson wasn't too sure what everything was but liked exploring it.

 They spent a long time in the "Grocery Store".  Grayson loved that he was big enough to stand at the shopping cart and drop things in.  He kept trying to pull the few things out, but realized he couldn't get to them very easy so he started to just dump lots of corn into his basket.  Later on he found the oven and thought it'd be fun to climb in it since he could climb onto the door when it was down.  They could have just kept on playing there, but we made them leave to see one more exhibit before it was time to go.  

Even though there was still about half the museum we never saw, the last exhibit we checked out was the "Rainforest".  It was a small area for kids under 4 to climb on things and the walls and ceilings were decorated like the rainforest.  There was speaker boxes on the walls that would make animal sounds when you pushed the buttons as well.  

It was a fun day at the Children's Museum and we'll have to go back again soon since we didn't see about half of it.  Too bad it's an hour drive otherwise Grayson and I would take Daddy tomorrow since his class was cancelled due to the cold!  Can you believe it?!  No school because of the cold in Southern AZ!?  Craziness!  Thank goodness it's supposed to warm back up this weekend and be in the high 60's on Sunday.  Maybe Grayson and Julia can play in the sandbox again while all the boys watch football :)
